No not at all ECE is not at all. Please don't hesitate to take the branch by comparing its toughness ratio because in all the branches has good placements as well scope. My advice for you is to take the branch with your interest not with the toughness.

no branch is tough or easy it only depends on the personal intrest. Take an example for a footballer cricket is tough and for a cricketer football is tough. And no one other than you can know your capabilities. If you are interested in ece then go for it, and no one will stop you.
Regarding ece it will involve circuits, some coding, electrical stuff. Most of it will be revolving around semiconductors.

ECE means electronics and communication engineering. if you are detemined to take this as your engineering course then it wont be tough. As you see ECE branch teaches you the basics of nearly all engineering courses ie. it covers the topics from Civil,Mechanical,Electrical,IT and CSE. So will be able to explore all the engineering courses. And that is why this field is regarded as an evergreen field. You will always have a vivid number of job oppurtunities when you are a ECE. Only the basics are thought except that you will have a good knowledge in electronics and communication field. Since the communication field is increasing day by day, there is no need to worry about your job. Thus this is a very good field opted by many students at present.
