Hello,

There should not be any confusion whether ECE is a good branch or not.ECE is obviously a good branch to study but only if you have a passion in Electronics. Not only ECE all branches are good if you have a passion in that particular branch.

But there was a guy in our class who also was my roommate in 3rd year.He has a great passion for electronics from the very beginning of his school days and he took ECE though he should have got IT easily. He did so many good Electronics projects during his b.tech and won almost all the competitions in our Techfest.

So the point is that it is all about you.If you don't have any specific passion till now,if you are comfortable in everything,if you can learn new things which will be taught to you then I would suggest you to go for IT or CSE as no of opportunities are much higher in IT sector. But if you have developed interest in anything be it Electronics or Mechanics or anything and if you are determined enough then no one can stop you and you should follow your passion then.

Now coming to the second part of the question what everyone says should not matter a lot.I would like to tell what I have experienced in my college days and during placements.

Almost 70% of the total ECE students were placed in software companies. But what about the rest of the students so here comes the thing that I am trying to convey. There were people who were placed in very good core companies like Intel,Samsung Electronics ,Qualcomm and many more.

The thing is that the not all of the ECE students are passionate about Electronics. Some of them took ECE because they could not get CSE,some of them took ECE because ECE students have both the opportunities of software and core. All these people go for software profile in the end since they were not completely focused in Electronics and opportunities in IT sector are also much higher now a days.

Here I am sharing Some Top electronics & Communication companies of India -:

1. Havells  India LTD.

2-:Aar em Electronics.

3.Bajaj  Electronics .

4-:Midas communication Technologies

5-:The Kirloskar electric company Limited

6-: Jabil Electronics .

7-: Bharat Electronics Limited.

8-:Honeywell.

9-:Philips electronics India.

10-:Bosch in India.

Good Luck

Hello,
.
ECE stands for electronic and communication engineering. This course is for the student's who are more interested in electronics. This code is less with programming and more with technical work.
.
And yes, if you are not interested in programming ECE is a good course to choose. And if you like programmers, go for CCE engineering. Both the courses are same at a point. Now you should choose according to your intrest
.
If you are searching for difference then simple ECE students develop things with electrical power which are made by CCE branch  stdents by programming
