No, GATE exam is not necessary for admission in M.Tech chemical engineering course at UPES Dehradun. Admission in M.Tech course in UPES is through M.Tech Engineering Entrance Test  and also through GATE. Students will be shortlisted on the basis of their marks in the qualifying exam and the institute will conduct a personal interview for admitting such students.

The schedule for the interview and shortlisted students will be released on UPES official website.
