Hello,
Gate overall is considered to be one of the hard exam, but it is due to it's vast curriculum of four years of engineering is tested in three hours. Being an applicant myself before my view for the exam has changed a bit. The exam curriculum may be hard but the exam is not that hard. What it means is, the mental and verbal section of gate, which is of about 20 marks is really easy for an engineering graduate point of view. From the remaining paper about 30-40% of the paper is based on your thorough knowledge up to 12th grade ( just like the questions in JEE exam), which again can be considered a partially easy. And the four year curriculum of engineering should be effectively studied, instead of studying the whole syllabus, study a limited portion but thoroughly. If you have been sincere during your last seven semesters of your college, 45-50% score can be acquired with ease without much stressing out on targeted study for the exam, which is considered a decent score to be looked upon. Of course for better college you need to work hard. And I would have recommended before or even from a very few days remaining, that just revise the whole syllabus with a non stressed mind, and then just keep solving as much papers as you can, and just learn the mistakes you did in those papers. It can be considered for all MCQ based examinations. Because most of the exams are designed to test our problem solving skills in a limited time, so we should be able to sort the easiest ones at the time of exam.

Hello Isha,

I would like to tell you that it's  pretty tough. I would also say tough not. All depend upon how you like to see things.

Just believe in yourself and don't lose hope if you are not doing well in your mocks.

Just keep calm and revise everything properly.

Get your basics clear so that you can apply the concepts rather than mugging up everything.

Practice is the main strategy. Get previous papers and practice different kinds of problems.

Talk with top rank holders and good professors of your subjects to get motivated always.

Last but not the least, GATE preparation needs determination. All you need to do is be determined and diligently observe the tricks throughout the preparation period and work towards the goal. Put your heart and soul into the preparation and with the time that you have right now,

Hope this helps and all the very best for your future!
