In the hotel management you will learn various subjects like Management, Accounting, Marketing, Human resource with your core subjects.You must be physically and mentally strong by this I mean emotionally strong.You must have good communication skills as you will be communicating with guest every now and then and if you are working in front of the house i.e. Front office and f&b service all the time you are handling the customers.And I don't think thoes things make any difference irrespective of your gender.Bottom line is, Yes it is good Field for girls. As you know hotel functions 365 days 24*7. As an employee you have to work in any shift.If you are really interested in cooking then go for Food Production otherwise front office is best.
