Hi Nathu,
Instrumentation and Control Engineering is not a secondary branch it is a vast interdisciplinary branch of engineering. Under this branch students learn to design, develop, install, manage and maintain instruments that monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes. An ICE engineer controls operational processes of an organization and works very closely across all functions including operations, purchasing and design.
It's core subjects are Sensors and transducers, Micro controllers, Industrial instrumentation, Control systems, PC Interfacing and telemetry, Instrumentation system design, Robotics.
