You should appear in both season of JEE MAINS i.e JANUARY and APRIL.Best score is considered.Even your preparation isn't well for JANUARY season of JEE still you should appear in it to get an experience of newly introduced paper.You have lost that opportunity so try to appear in MOCK TEST.

The JEE mains score is determined between the two scores given,i.e., from one given in January and the other in April. The candidate gets an opportunity to assess his /her accuracy from the exam given. If any improvement needs to be done,  then a second chance persists. This approach can prove to be beneficial from exam point of view.

no, it is not a good decision to quit JEE mains of January session. You are not knowing the future. Try to give 100% in January attempt itself. As in  2019 you can see that the percentiles can be easily achieved in January session in comparison to April session. Study hard you have enough time left in your hand from now also to get into a good college with a good branch. Hope this will Help you. good luck
