It entirely depends on the person. In my personal opinion, a student should not take coaching up and until Class 10.  Following are the reasons for that:-

1. The syllabus till Class 9 in any board is more or less easy and can be done via self-study.

2. The result until Class 9 does not matter in the long run. So, even if you found out that you are weak in any particular subject through self-study, you can take up coaching in that subject in Class 10.

3. The most important aspect of self-study is that it will create a habit of learning things on your own, thus helping in your personal development which will be very helpful in your future life.
