Hello Srinivas,

JEE mains examination helps you to get admission into good engineering colleges. For filling the application form of jee main, National testing agency has declared eligibility criteria and if you fulfil that then you are eligible to take the exam.

There are following parameters on which eligibility is considered like age, marks secured in your 10+2 exams, combination of subjects in 12th class.

There is no age limit to give the exam but you need to pass your 10+2 exams.

Candidate must have minimum 75% in their class 12 exams but for SC/ST candidate you need to have minimum 65% to be qualified for this exams.

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

The basic requirement to take JEE Main exam is to pass 10+2 examination. Apart from this, Aadhar card is a mandatory document without which, you will not be considered eligible for the exam.

*It is mandatory for a you aspiring to take JEE Main  to pass the qualifying exam with 5 subjects in total. If 4 subjects are taken in the exam, the candidature will not be considered valid.

Qualifying marks:

  • For general category candidates- minimum  75% marks in aggregate.
  • For SC/ST/PWD candidates-  65% marks in aggregate.

You can appear for up to 3 times for the Joint Entrance Exam.

And there is no relaxation for you belonging to reserved category.

Thank You & All the best!

Hello,
You should either have 65% in boards of class 12 or should be in the top 20 percentile of your respective board. You must satisfy one of the above to be eligible to seat for JOSAA counseling for government colleges for engineering like NITs IIITs and GFTIs.

Hope it helps
Thank you
