Dear Riddhi, JIPMER MBBS is held for admission to 200 medical seats in its Puducherry and Karaikal branches. Do if you qualify in JIPMER and get an admission, you will be studying in one of the branches. By appearing for JIPMER, you are only competing for a seat in these 2 branches. JIPMER like AIIMS is an autonomous Medical Institution that conducts its own medical entrance examination. On the other hand, NEET is a National level Entrance Examination for admission to Medical, Dental and Ayush colleges across India. This exam isnt confined to one particular college but is the only entrance exam for admission in any Medical college in India. So NEET and JIPMER are 2 different exams for 2 different spreads. If you are certain that you can get an admission in JIPMER, then you neednt write NEET.

JIPMER is a premier institution which is of national importance. 

It takes its students through a national level examination which takes place in the first week of June.

If you are applying for JIPMER, NEET scores won't count.

However,  it is suggested that you give both NEET and JIPMER examination for maximum success rate.
