Because in B.Sc(Hons.)Computer science you will study about mathematics, first year of the course lays emphasis on building the candidate’s foundation in computer science in areas such as programming, algorithms, and Mathematics and to build a firm foundation in Mathematics, besides including modules on electronics and humanities.

As per Delhi University guidelines, to study BSc (Hons) Computer Science, an applicant should have had Mathematics and Computer Science in their plus-two course. Though it is not necessary to add the subjects in the best-of-four calculation, scoring at least 60 per cent or more in Mathematics is mandatory.
