Hello,

Except IIM Indore and IIM Bangalore, there is no compulsion to stay in hostel in rest of the IIMs.

It is compulsory in IIM Indore to stay in hostels as it is under the rules of IIM Indore. The MBA program of IIM Indore is a full residential program, that means you need to stay in hostels.

In IIM Bangalore, it is compulsory to stay in hostel for the first year of MBA. From 2nd year, it is your own choice whether you want to stay in hostel or off campus.

Best Wishes.

Hello Dear,

No it is not necessary to stay in hostel in IIM and also in other colleges. It solely depends on you if choose to stay or not. The institutes will take charges according to that only. But it also depends on the institute like in IIMA it is necessary to stay in the hostel but it is not in case of IIM Indore.

Hope it helps.

Thanks!!1
