You can get NIT and other GFTI by JEE main paper 2.
If any person really want to go in architecture than no need to give paper 1.

Many government institute take admission on the basis of NATA test.
So candidate if you really want to pursue architecture than JEE MAIN Paper 2 and NATA is compulsory exam for you.
