Difficulty is everywhere. When you are in 1st year, it has its sudden difficulty. So don't worry about that. In general if you study well and be persistent in your LAB papers as well as theoretical papers then you will get good CGPA nothing to worry about that. Now the best you can is important. If you have time in your first year then you can surely go for more comprehensive study in order to get good marks, if you don't get that much of a marks then no worry go for the next semester well. Persistency in study is the key to score good in BTECH.

no, its not difficult to increase cgpa in later semesters. students face some obstacles in first semester cause they have left schools and come for a new type of education system other than 10+ 2 course. so in first semester of studies the result does not come out as expected. however we must learn from our mistakes and focus on study. the syllabus of each semester will be different and gradually the you would be studying the core domain of b.tech stream which ever you have selected. so it would be best to follow your routine, take helps from faculty, friends and do group study, watch online courses for better understanding.
