See, the KVPY is conducted by IISC Bangalore.

As per as the eligibility of the KVPY, class 11, class 12 and 1st year and under-graduate students are eligible.

The cut off for each category is different. It is an online exam and is conducted in two parts.

The overall cut-off is quite lower as compared to the general and other backward castes.

So ultimately you just get a little benefit .
