As per your query, I would like to inform you that even from cse branch it is not easy to get a job in  a product based company ,they also do a lot of hardwork to boost their skills and to developed a skilled labour. If you are thinking about positive way then you have one advantage you can go in mechancial sectros as well as IT sectors , in IT placements you will get equal no. of opportunities as IT students gets  in placements. So just work hard and go with the flow.
