No, it is not good to drop for a year for practice as there are many good companies which consider your gap before giving placements.

If you have any other option then don't drop. But if you have confidence on yourselves and wanted to be in iits or nits then you can drop. There is no problem during placement since 90% people drop. But dropping 2 times is not good . Keep this in your mind.

I dont think so that this is a good idea as you still have enough time for the preparation as having gap between 12th and B.Tech is not considered in a positive way. So I would say better to devote the left our time in your preparation and be determined that you will have to clear the jee exam with decent score.
