Dear priyanshu,
You are not eligible for JEE if hadn't take math as a mandatory subjects in your 12th examination.
You must have minimum 75percentage in your PCM for giving JEE exam.
So, you aren't allowed to take any branches without giving JEE exam.
I hope you get your answer with this.
Have a great day !

hi Aysuh. Thanks for resolving the query. I have a followup question. I read the entire brochure for JEE Mains available on its website. Nowhere it mentions the compulsion to have PCM to atleast appear for the exam. Infact, I apperaed for it in January. But, I know IITs require minimum 75% in PCM. SO maybe the NITs / IIITs consider admission on the basis of JEE mains since it doesn't demand Maths to be a subject, at least to appear in the exam. Maybe I can't secure a seat through counselling, that is a valid consequence. But I definitely did appear for the exam.
