No it is not necessary to do MBBS for becoming a psychiatrist. The thing mandatory for this course is that you must have biology background that is you have had science ( medical ) as your field in your high school . After clearing 12th with biology , you can go for the course of psychiatrist. You need not to do MBBS for this .
