Hello Student

No there is no need to open an account for a student to pay the admission fee of any NITs. There is a  SBI DGP branch in every NIT campus. The student has to deposit the admission fee in allowed accounts numbers by the authority of the NIT to deposit of the admission fees and if there is any rest amount after the transaction is done on behalf of the respective NIT.Opening an account of a kid below 18 years in any of the bank Kid's father have a  savings account in the  respective Bank and he has to submit  the birth certificate of  the Kid to prove the the relation between the kid and his father. Account may be of zero balance account.

Hope this help.
