Yes, you can apply for GATE XL in your final year of M.Sc.
The eligibility criteria of gate XL is candidate must have passed graduate in engineering/ Technology or master's degree in any relevant science subject. And there is no age limit for GATE exam.
So you can apply for GATE exam now in your final year of master's or you can also apply after completing your master's degree.
