Hello,

The admissions in National institute of technology(NITs) is done through Joint Entrance examination(JEE) main score while you can get seats in Indian institute of technology(IITs) through joint entrance examination advanced(JEE advanced) score. So yes it is possible to get seat in NITs through JEE mains score.

Hey,
The admission to NITs across India is on the basis of your JEE Mains score. If your marks match the cutoff,you will get the college. Every year the cutoff however changes based on difficulty of the question paper,number of candidates etcetra.
The minimum eligibility criteria includes that Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in class 12 or equivalent exam or they must be in the top 20 percentile in their class 12 examination. For SC/ ST, the eligibility is to obtain a minimum of 65% marks in class 12 or equivalent.

Yes admission to NIT is based on the rank secured in JEE Main only the rank is expected to be declared around 30th April 2020 after considering the best of the two JEE main scores. However admission to NIT is subject to performance in class12th either 75% or in top 20 percentile.
