Dear Aspirant,

C++ is most preferred programming language in competitive programming, but one thing you must understand is all the languages are made for some purpose. Like python and R are for data science, Swift is for iOS development, C/C++ is for OS development and so on and so forth.

So if you want to make a career in data science then you need to learn python/R and if you want to do competitive programming then you can use python there too but it is good if you learn c++ as all the platforms might not have python interpreter.
