Taking break for a year is a bad decision , There are many  B.Tech colleges that provide good online education and help students understand the topics with the help of video lectures, quizzes and many interactive sessions. Take advantage of it. Surf and get acquainted with more knowledge from internet. Learn a new skill eg . learn a new language / course etc.

Don't give up by taking 1 year break because it will kill your enthusiasm to study.

Hope this helps!
