they both are not ame they are different enterance exam , PGCET is a state level entrance exam of MBA and KMAT is an all india exam which takes place in few cities and it is for all the candidates across india.

KMAT and Karnataka PGCET are two different entrance tests.

KMAT is conducted by Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA) and is the entrance test for more than 169 AICTE approved B-schools in Karnataka state. KMAT is an all India exam and is all India exam which takes place in 10 cities across India and it is open to candidates from anywhere in the country.

Karnataka PGCET or as you have mentioned PGCET is a state level MBA Entrance exam which is conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority. The general eligibility criteria for PGCET is that the candidate should be have completed his/her B.Tech course from an institute recognised by the Karnataka state or the candidate or his/her parents should have resided in the state for more than seven years or the candidate’s parents should have studied in a government recognised institute in Karnataka for a period of seven years. It is important that you fulfil the domicile criteria.

No they both are different. But if you want to pursue MBA i would suggest you to do through CAT,MAT,XAT or CMAT since these tests are most recognized in all the famous institutions in INDIA.
