The Department of Microbiology was established in 2002. The course emphasizes the fundamental principles of Microbiology and is updated regularly according to the market needs in order to enhance the immediate employability of the students. Innovative subject disciplines like Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bioinformatics and Biochemistry are offered both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The department  also offers a total of 24 scholarships for both undergraduate and post graduate courses, both sponsored by college as well as trusts.
