Hello Gulnaz,

Ophthalmologists should hold a bachelor's degree, complete a 4-year Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program and participate in an ophthalmology residency within a hospital for three years. So Mbbs is not compulsory to become an ophthalmologist, you can do the 4 year bachelor's program of doctor of medicine and it is compulsory to gain 3 year experience in an opthalmology department within a hospital.

Thank you
