You have flexibility to go ahead with mechanical and as well as electronics. The course study is based on both department.
If you're looking for higher studies. .you will gain more knowledge about that in earlier stages itself ( i mean if want to go for automobile/ production engineering or power electronics/ instrumentation you can choose your own path with wise knowledge)

And most importantly in placements. you can sit in IT and Non IT companies.

Don't expect a lot  of packages from the branch as it is not established as IT.

It is one of the most rarest engineering specialties. Here, the equipment is adequate. And the placements are mediocre. Then there's the salary package. 3lpa is provided by the core. This branch has only one part in the sastra. The field of mechatronics is quite impressive in  sastra
