Here is a list of some colleges in Chennai that offer B.Tech or B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering, without any links:

  1. Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT) – Offers B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering. It’s known for affordable fees and good industry tie-ups.

  2. Rajalakshmi Engineering College – Offers B.E. in Mechatronics with a solid academic record and decent placement support.

  3. Agni College of Technology – Located on OMR, offers B.E. in Mechatronics. Moderate infrastructure and intake.

  4. Jeppiaar University – Offers B.Tech in Mechatronics. Fairly new but includes industry-focused programs.

  5. Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) – Offers B.Tech in Mechatronics. Private deemed university with international exposure.

  6. Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER) – Offers Mechatronics Engineering as part of its B.Tech programs.

These colleges typically require 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and admissions are through state-level counselling or direct admission depending on the institution. Fees and placements vary, but some of these colleges provide decent training and exposure for Mechatronics students.

I got mechatronics engineering in JEC, in second round of MP DTE , should I take it or not??? Pretty confused..

Chelsie G 23rd Jul, 2025

If you got Mechatronics Engineering at JEC (Jabalpur Engineering College) in Round 2 of MP DTE counselling, here’s a simple way to decide:

  • If you are interested in robotics, automation, AI, and mechanical and  electronics systems, Mechatronics is a very future forward and interdisciplinary field.

  • JEC is a reputed government college, so you’ll get good exposure and low fees.

  • If you were expecting a better branch or college and think your chances are strong in upcoming rounds, you can wait  but there’s a risk of not getting anything better.

  • If you’re unsure about the Mechatronics branch itself, research its scope and see if it aligns with your career interests.

Can a diploma holder in mechatronics and industrial automation also eligible?

Nikita shahi 22nd Jul, 2025

Yes, if you are a diploma holders in Mechatronics and Industrial Automation then you eligible to apply for higher education such as B.Tech through lateral entry. You can usually enter directly into the second year of engineering programs related to your diploma stream, like Mechanical, Electronics, or Mechatronics itself.

Admission is generally done through state-level lateral entry entrance exams or through college-specific admission process.

Wishing you the best !

I have got 92 percentile in mhcet can I get admission for mechatronics in pune or mumbai n which colleges

harsh singh 25th Jun, 2025

With 92 percentile in MHT-CET, you can easily get Mechatronics in colleges like MMIT Pune and TCET Mumbai. These colleges have lower cutoffs, so admission is likely. You can also try related branches like AI & DS or Robotics in private colleges like PCCOE, AISSMS, VIIT, etc.
