Hello Bhandhavi, yes metallurgy is a core branch and it is a seperate one, often combined with material sciences,it is emerging as one of the top courses one can take in engineering, if offers good paying jobs but the jobs are little in require of man power and hardwork.

Yes. Metallurgy is a core branch. Because in general you have to do site work also with office work, but now students from these branches are also recruited in software companies with 100 percent office work there is no meaning of being core them.
