Haha,yeah its somewhat true.

PESITSOUTHCAMPUS is now a university. It is a prestigious institutions and a very good college for learning.
Rules are not ridiculous but there are some unnecessary rules(nobody follows them). 
Mass bunking is taken seriously. In fact it's the best college after the top 3(Pesit,rv,bmsce) in Bangalore in terms of reputation and placement!! That's because we enjoy the same placement opportunity as Pesit (it's combined with more than 100 companies!). Also ever since the name was changed from pesse to Pesit-bsc we enjoy the same reputation of Pesit in the industry and for higher studies abroad.
