They are allowed to right Dr infront of their name in India but are not allowed to prescribe drugs.

Physiotherapists can use the title Dr. and write it infront of their name, the Indian Association of Physiotherapists(IAP) has said. It also said that neither the Indian Medical Association (IMA) nor the Medical Council of India (MCI) has any statutory power to regulate the physiotherapy profession in India.

Hi, no a physiotherapist can't use the prefix "Dr."
Physiotherapists in India are regulated by the provisions of RCI actband in section 2 of RCI, the term physiotherapist means a rehabilitation professional.
The supreme Court of India, in the case of " Poonam Verma vs Ashwin Patel" stated that the physiotherapist isn't allowed to practice medicine and / or prescribe drugs and thus they can't claim themselves to be a specialist medical practitioner and by prefixing the word " Dr." with their name in the prescription.
