JEE Main 2025: College Predictor | Marks vs Percentile vs Rank
New: JEE Seat Matrix- IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTI | NITs Cutoff | Top B.Tech Colleges
Hey,
A score is a point that indicates how well a student has performed. Whereas a percentile is a relative ranking that indicates the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to or a below a particular score. For example, if a student scores 15 marks out of 20 marks, then his percentage is expressed as 75%. On the other hand, if the student's percentile in an examination is given as 75, this means that he scored better than 75% of the people that had appeared for the examination.
Hope this helps you.
Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing great.
As per your question, NO the score and the percentile are not same. Both are different. Score something which you get out of the maximum marks of the exam. But the percentile refers to something which is calculated basing upon the student who got highest mark in the exam and the total number of students who had written the exam.
Hope this helps!
