No, it's not at all necessary to appear for the JEE ADVANCED examination. You can appear in the JEE ADVANCED test only if your willing to take admission for B.TECH courses at the IIT's. Else you need not to appear for it . Yes clearing JEE MAIN is the eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE ADVANCED. But even after that it's your choice to sit in the test. Also both the exams have very different levels of strategies and preparation. So decide first and then go for it.

No, its definitely not necessary to appear for JEE advance even though if you have qualified for it.
Its totally your choice whether to appear for it or not.However,it is advisable to appear for it anyway because you only get 2 chances consecutively for appearing in JEE advance so in my opinion you should jot waste thing chances just simply attend to it you will not clear it then you will learn something from it and that will help you next year.

No if you are satisfied with NIT then there is no need to appear advanced but if you are keeping the taste for IIT then jee advanced is a platform to perform miracle. What I think is its always good to appear more exams as exams provide a platform to test your true knowledge.
