In order to ascertain whether or not you have had an effective interaction you can ask yourself the following questions:
Did I contribute positively to the interaction? Did I learn something new? Was I able to get my point across exactly how I meant it? Did I understand the other party’s perspective?
If your answer to most of these questions is ‘Yes’, then you are definitely on the right path.
