                  Look there has not any such kind of requirement. Suppose if you take admission in CSE, you will find such kind of students they don't know even about basics of CS. Basically they are belonging to biology. So, they will face problems in 1st year, when they have c programming in their syllabus. So, if you an engineering guy, you have to do programming but don't have such kind of requirement from begining. You will find also that kind of student, in 1st year they didn't anything about programming but after couple of years you will be master in it because programming in very interesting.
If you have time, so I will advice you to just learn about basics of C programming. This will help you later in your September as well as in your career.
