Hi Candidate,

The category plays a major role in determining the cut-off for a particular stream in a specific college, and this plays a huge role when it comes to JoSAA counselling for getting admission into Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT), and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT).

Talking about the EWS reservation, there is a 10 percentage reservation in this qouta which was earlier only 4 percentage, and this reservation is applicable for all government colleges including the IITs and the NITs too. The cut off for NITs and the IIITs may be different for different streams, but the reservation is same in both the institutions.
