Pharm D or Doctor of Pharmacy is a professional degree in pharmacy stream. It is a 6 years duration course with 5 years of learning and 1 year of internship.

D pharma or Diploma in pharmacy is a 2 year entry level diploma course. this program is designed to prepare candidates to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in hospital, community pharmacies and other pharmaceutical companies.

There are some differences like Pharma.D degree is an approved and registrable qualification to be registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act of 1948.

Whereas D. Pharma is a Diploma in Pharmacy is a two years Diploma course after 10 th class. The duration of the course is two (2) academic years, with each academic year spread over no less than one hundred and eighty working days and also about 500 hours of practical training spread over not less than 3 months is mandatory to complete the course.D.Pharma holder can further upgrade by studying B.Pharma or Pharma.D
