There's officially no dress code for JEE Advanced and Main, but most of the students wore a normal t-shirt and jeans/trousers.

Few things you should keep in mind for both Main and Advanced :

  • Belts are not allowed, so make sure your trousers are tight enough.
  • Handkerchiefs are not allowed in some centres.
  • Wallet, rings, lockets, chains are strictly not allowed.
  • People who wear the thread (I am sure brahmins can understand), please leave it at home. They might make a chaos about it.

With so many paper leaks this year, expect a bit more of checking at all the centres.

Nevertheless, this is all about what I faced last year.

No,  there is no particular dress code for appearing to jee. The dress you wear is not matter. Wear the dress in which you feel comfortable. So that you can perform well in the exam.

Hey aspirant

There is no strict rule for any dress code while appearing for JEE Mains. Wear clothes which you are comfortable and confident in. Remember to carry your belongings like Hall Ticket/Admit Card with you.

Feel free to contact for any other help. All the best!

Thanks.
