IITs and NITs are centrally funded institutes and hence they ensure that no student suffer due to financial problems. The following fee waiver is provided by NITs and IITs to the financially weaker Students based on their annual family income and category.

• There is 100% tution fee waiver for SC/ST/ PH students irrespective of their annual family income.
• There is full remission of tution fee for the general and OBC candidates whose annual family income is less than 1 lakh.
• There is waiver of of two-third of the Tuition Fee for General and OBC students whose family income is between Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakh per annum.
