Hi,
It completely depends on your interest become an engineer. If you love to choose engineering as your career and you have unconditional passion for the same then you most take a long time coaching for JEE Mains. In the other case if you have any other dreams and then it is not at all fare to waste one year of your life for repeating the same entrance exam. You can get into any other universities or colleges in some other course or any related course.
In my personal view in case you are wasting you are one year for repeating for JEE mains then you should be damn sure that you will achieve NIT or IIT seat. Taking long time coaching really matters as it gives you deep understanding about concepts and about the type of questions which come for the exam. You will also get to know about the pattern of the exam through mock test.

Hello Swathi,
Taking long term coaching in JEE mains depends upon the personal choice of the individual.
If you have surity that you can crack the exam without any coaching then you need not to have a coaching for the same. And if not, then it is one's own call whether to join it or not.
To prepare thoroughly for the exam I would suggest you to go for self study, read NCERT Books, keep your basics clear and solve previous year questions as much as you can. This will definitely yield you more than taking long time coaching for the exam.
Good luck,
Hope it helps :)
