is there is different in question papers of GATE examination for different branches like for biotechnology students , there is more coding questions or biology related questions ?? also ,what about negative marking in GATE examination??

Hello,
The GATE syllabus for each branch will be different here is the specified GATE syllabus for Biotechnology branch

  • Engineering Mathematics
  • General Biology
  • Recombinant DNA Technology
  • Plant and animal Biotechnology
  • Bioprocess Engineering and Process Biotechnology
  • General Aptitude

Engineering Mathematics and General aptitude is common to every branch.And for every 1 mark questions there is -0.33 negative marking for incorrect answer, for 2 marks questions if the answer is incorrect there is -0.66 negative marking.For numerical based questions there is no negative marking.
