If you can score better in JEE main April then definitely it will be an added advantage to your performance.

one thing to be noted that many of the students will appear for both exams and for them the best of the to score will be considered so somehow you will be at a disadvantage not directly.

It will be better if your performance is not good then to appear for JEE main April.  the number of candidates appeared for JEE main January are 869010. If the number of candidates increase in the JEE main April session then your rank would be not what   you calculated based on the number 869010

Dear Aspirant

If you write Jee mains or not if will not connected to your rank .The main point is if the no of Candidates in April session increases to some number then your rank will affect .Lets take an example.In January session the no of candidates appeared were 869010 so the formula to calculate the rank is 869010 /100 *(100- Nta score ).
So if the no of Candidates apperared in April session will increase to 12 lakh then formula will be 12 lakh /100 *(100- Nta score).
So if you have scored good Percentile in January session then you should practice for Jee advanced and there is no need to appear in Jee main April session.
