for  admission to IITs ,  exam is JEE ,

as IITs come under central govenment,  the JEE mains reservation criteria for institutes under central government that is followed is :

1.general economic weaker section(GEN-EWS):

reservation percentage - 10%

2. scheduled caste - 15%

3. scheduled tribes - 7.5%

4. non creamy layer of other backward classes(OBC-NCL) - 27%

5. person with disability (PWD) - 5% in each category.

categories of specified disabilities to be considered under PwD category:

• Blindness and low vision

• Deaf and hard of hearing

• Locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy

• Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness,

• Multiple disabilities

• Other specified disabilities
