BDS is bachelor's in dental science.

What do you need a stethoscope for .

You don't need it to listen to heart beat of teeth , so no you don't need one.

You will be provided with more complex instruments in your course like mouth mirror , scaler , dental drill , syringes etc which you need to repair teeth.
