hello aspirant..

A transistor radio is a small portable radio receiver that uses transistor-based circuitry. Following the invention of the transistor, the first commercial transistor radio was released in 1954. They were called just Radio. The introduction of transistors made the radio smaller and portable with small batteries. To identify the new type it was called Transistor Radio, Then over a period of time the common word Radio got dropped and Transistor remained.
