Dear Akshay,

Yes, technically it is possible for students to transfer from India to university in USA. The procedure is not as simple.

Due to the credit system provided certain criteria are met.

  • The university has to be approved by Indian authority
  • The student should be in the first year
  • Prospective students should start application process at least 1 year before the date they want to admit themselves at the US university
  • Along with the mandatory application requirements, like the application fee, transcript and letters of reference, transfer students may be asked to submit a transfer application form and/or supplemental information.
  • MOst aspirants may not be required to send their SAT scores but that depends on the individual university.
  • The student should have completed the mandatory credits in the first institution.

All the best.
