So actually, IIMs do not have any compulsion for having Work Experience but if you have work experience of around 2-3 years, then you get points on the basis of which your merit in the list can increase.

Well, if you have experience of more than 3+ years, then also you won't get any point and freshers also don't get any point. So you must ideally have an experience of 2-3 years which will be an additional benefit to you.

Working experience is not a compulsory requirement for taking admission in IIM. However, the authorities selecting the candidates give some weightage to work experience while making decisions. This weightage varies from IIM to IIM, but they never reveal the exact weightage given.
