Hello,

In Assam Board (SEBA) exams , the following points are applicable:

  1. To pass the HS (Higher Secondary) exam, you must clear all your subjects, including the main subjects and any additional subjects.
  2. Failing in one subject, especially the fourth subject (optional), may not prevent you from passing if the other main subjects are passed.
  3. However, you must clear the supplementary or improvement exam for the failed subject to be considered passed by SEBA.
  4. If you fail, you may have the chance to appear for a compartmental exam.
  5. Confirm details with SEBA authorities for the latest rules.

Hope it helps !

Hello there,

For the Assam HS first-year exam under AHSEC, if you pass in 5 main subjects but fail in one, you are promoted to the second year. However, the failed subject must be cleared in the subsequent examinations to be considered fully qualified by the board.

Key Points:

  1. HS First Year : It's a promotion exam; failing one subject doesn’t stop promotion to the second year.

  2. HS Final Exam : To pass, you must clear all required subjects, including the one you previously failed.

Ensure you prepare to pass the failed subject before or during your final exams to avoid complications in the certification process.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

In the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) system, students are typically required to study five subjects.

To pass the Higher Secondary (HS) examinations, a student must score at least 30% in each subject and achieve an overall aggregate score of 30%.

If a student fails in one of the subjects but passes the remaining four, the overall result will depend on the specific policies of AHSEC,  it's important to note that failing a subject may affect the student's division classification and overall academic standing. If a student fails in one out of the five subjects, they are typically considered unsuccessful in the examination. However, AHSEC may provide grace marks to help students pass. The grace marks are limited to 5%, 4%, and 3% of the maximum marks for papers corresponding to A, B, and C grades, respectively.

It's important to note that the application of grace marks is at the discretion of AHSEC and may vary based on specific circumstances. Therefore, failing one subject could result in not passing the overall examination, depending on the application of grace marks and other considerations.

it's crucial to consult directly with your educational institution or refer to the official AHSEC guidelines
