If you have completed a BSc General from IGNOU with Physics, Botany and Zoology, then your eligibility for MSc Physics mainly depends on whether the university requires Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level. Most universities clearly mention that candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics together during their degree. Even if you have a good understanding of mathematics, institutions consider only your formal academic subjects for eligibility.

Still, there are some private universities and autonomous institutes that allow students without a mathematics background, as long as they clear the entrance exam. Another practical option is to complete a Mathematics bridge course or certificate course from IGNOU or any recognized university. Many institutes accept this as fulfilling the maths requirement.
